Gloria Dale

The work of Gloria Dale is mostly connected to the natural world. She paints in pastels and watercolours, but mostly works with felt and silk paper, hand made by herself, and worked into framed images. Recently she has been working in collage and mix media. She also makes bowls out of silk paper, and makes cards of the moors, seashore, and other images using collage, painting, felt and silk paper. Whilst she thoroughly enjoys drawing, she has a strong interest in textiles. Gloria was in the fashion department in her second year at art college. Gloria was born in Cornwall but has spent many years in Devon where she has been strongly influenced by the sea and the moorland. She lives close to the moors in Ivybridge. She has exhibited in many places in Devon including Plympton, Plymouth, The Royal William Yard, Plymouth College of Art and Design, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Totnes, and Dittisham.
