Sue Farrow - Jones
I was born in 1948, I grew up overlooking the bay at Saundersfoot on the Pembrokeshire coast so the sea figures strongly in my work; I studied at Newport College of Art and Manchester College of Art where I trained in Textile Design. I taught Art and Crafts at Kilworthy House, a socio-therapeutic community just outside Tavistock, after which I worked at Plymouth College of Art & Design until 2003 and at Dartington College of Arts until 2010. In both colleges I worked as a screen-printer, before re-training as a counsellor, working with art/s students who were experiencing all the attendant problems of achieving qualifications from National Diplomas through to PhDs. It was a very fulfilling career. Having retired, I now have the time to continue printmaking and return to painting watercolours.
