Textiles form the basis of most of my work, together with simple stitching. Often wool and silk fibres are felted together, used in a 'painterly' way this is an ideal medium to express depth and intensity of light and colour. Inspiration comes from organic forms, the landscape and ancient artifacts. In landscapes, I try to reflect the diverse moods, aspects and colours of a land shaped by nature and marked by man since prehistoric times. A common thread is a sense of history and spiritual link with the earth - we are part of its living cycle and leave our imprint on the land.
